Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026
These Terms set out the rules for using squidinnovation.com and for buying services from Squid Innovation, including how payments, cancellations and refunds work. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.
1. About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of squidinnovation.com and the services provided by Squid Innovation ("we", "us", "our"), a technology company based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. By using our website, accepting a proposal or quote, or paying an invoice, you ("you", "the client") agree to these Terms.
If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm that you have authority to bind it. If we sign a separate written agreement with you, that agreement prevails over these Terms where they conflict.
2. Our services
We provide, as described in each proposal or order:
- web and platform development, e-commerce and integrations;
- mobile app development for iOS and Android;
- AI solutions and workflow automation;
- cloud services, hosting, domains and DevOps;
- UI/UX and brand design;
- social media management and content;
- 3D and immersive web experiences.
The exact deliverables, timeline, price and any assumptions for your project are set out in the written proposal, quote, order or invoice that you accept (together, the "Order"). Anything not in the Order is outside its scope.
3. Proposals, orders and changes
A proposal or quote is valid for the period stated in it (or 30 days if none is stated). A contract is formed when you accept the Order in writing (including by email or message), pay an invoice, or ask us to start work.
If you want something different from what the Order describes, we will tell you how it affects the price and timeline. Changes only apply once both of us have agreed to them in writing. Timelines we give are good-faith estimates and depend on you providing what we need in time.
4. Fees and payment
- Prices are as stated in the Order, in the currency stated in it, and are exclusive of VAT and other taxes unless the Order says otherwise. We add VAT or other taxes where the law requires.
- Payment is due on the dates or milestones stated in the Order or invoice. We may require a deposit before work begins.
- You can pay by card or other methods available through Stripe, or by bank transfer, as set out on the invoice. Card payments are processed securely by Stripe; we do not see or store your full card details. See our Privacy Policy.
- Bank, card, currency-conversion or transfer charges that apply on your side are your responsibility.
- If an invoice is not paid when due, we may, after notice, pause work, suspend hosting or other ongoing services, and withhold delivery of unpaid deliverables until payment is received. We may also claim our reasonable costs of recovering the amount due, to the extent permitted by law.
- Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank so we can fix any problem quickly. We reserve the right to contest invalid chargebacks with evidence of the services provided.
5. Recurring services
Some services (for example hosting, maintenance and support plans, domain renewals and social media management) are billed on a recurring basis, such as monthly or yearly, as stated in the Order. They renew automatically for the same period until you cancel.
You can cancel a recurring service at any time by giving us written notice (email is fine) before the next billing date. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not refund a billing period that has already started, except as set out in section 6.
We will tell you in advance if we change the price of a recurring service. The new price applies from the next billing period, and you may cancel before then if you do not accept it.
6. Cancellations and refunds
Our services are custom digital work, so we calculate refunds by the work done, as follows:
- Before we start work: if you cancel before any work has begun, we refund what you paid in full, less any non-recoverable third-party costs we have already incurred on your behalf (for example domain, licence or font purchases).
- After work has started: you pay for the work completed and costs incurred up to the date of cancellation, calculated from the milestones or time spent in the Order. If you have prepaid for milestones that we have not yet started, we refund that part.
- Delivered work: payments for milestones or deliverables that we have completed and delivered in line with the Order are not refundable.
- If we do not deliver: if we fail to deliver a service substantially as described in the Order, we will first try to put it right at no charge within a reasonable time. If we cannot, you are entitled to a refund of the fees paid for the part that was not delivered.
- Recurring services: fees for a billing period that has already started are not refundable, but you will not be billed again after you cancel as described in section 5.
- Third-party purchases: fees paid to third parties on your behalf (such as domains, app-store accounts, ad spend, licences and API usage) are passed on at cost and are not refundable by us unless the third party refunds us.
To request a cancellation or refund, email contact@squidinnovation.com with your name, the invoice or payment reference and the reason. We will reply within 3 business days. Approved refunds are made to the original payment method through Stripe, or by bank transfer for bank payments, and usually reach you within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
Nothing in this section limits any right you have under applicable consumer-protection law that cannot be excluded.
7. Your responsibilities
To help us deliver on time, you agree to:
- give us accurate information, content, access and timely feedback and approvals;
- make sure you own, or have permission to use, all text, images, logos, data and other material you give us, and that using it as agreed does not infringe anyone's rights or break the law;
- keep your account credentials safe and tell us promptly of any unauthorised access;
- comply with the terms of any third-party platforms you ask us to use or manage (for example Meta, Google, Apple and app stores).
Delays caused by missing content, access or approvals can move the delivery dates and, where the delay is long, may result in additional charges as agreed with you.
8. Delivery and acceptance
We deliver work in the stages set out in the Order, typically with demos or staging links you can review. Please check each deliverable and tell us in writing within 7 days of delivery about anything that does not meet the Order. We will fix genuine defects against the agreed scope within a reasonable time at no extra charge.
If we do not hear from you within that period, or you start using a deliverable in production, it is treated as accepted. Support, maintenance and new features after acceptance are separate services unless the Order says otherwise.
9. Intellectual property
Once we have received full payment for a deliverable, you own the custom source code, designs and content we created specifically for you under the Order, and we assign those rights to you.
We keep ownership of our pre-existing tools, libraries, templates, frameworks, know-how and general techniques, and we grant you a non-exclusive, perpetual licence to use them as part of what we deliver. Third-party and open-source components stay under their own licences, which continue to apply.
Unless you ask us in writing not to, we may describe the project and show non-confidential parts of it in our portfolio and marketing, naming you only with your permission.
The squidinnovation.com website, its design, text and logos belong to us and may not be copied or reused without our written permission.
10. Confidentiality
Each of us will keep the other's non-public business, technical and financial information confidential, use it only for the services, and share it only with people who need it and are bound to keep it confidential. This does not apply to information that is public through no fault of ours, was already known to us, or that we must disclose by law.
11. Third-party services and AI
Our work may rely on third-party services such as hosting, domain registrars, payment processors, app stores, social platforms and AI or API providers. Those services have their own terms and fees, and we are not responsible for changes to them or for outages outside our control.
AI features can produce inaccurate, incomplete or unexpected results. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated output and for how it is used in your business.
13. Our commitment and disclaimers
We will provide the services with reasonable skill and care, using suitably qualified people.
Except as stated in these Terms, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we provide the services and website "as is" and do not promise that they will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of every vulnerability, or that they will meet needs we were not told about in the Order. Software is complex, and ongoing maintenance and updates are part of keeping it secure.
14. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data; and (b) our total liability arising out of or in connection with an Order, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, is limited to the fees you have paid us for the services under that Order in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
15. Indemnity
You agree to compensate us for losses, costs and claims brought by third parties that result from the material you give us, or from your use of our deliverables in breach of these Terms or the law, except to the extent we caused the loss.
16. Term and termination
These Terms apply for as long as you use our website or services. Either of us may end an Order by written notice if the other materially breaches it and does not fix the breach within 14 days of being told, or if the other becomes insolvent. You may also cancel as set out in sections 5 and 6.
On termination, you pay for work completed and costs incurred up to that date (subject to section 6). Sections that by their nature should continue, including payment, intellectual property, confidentiality, liability and governing law, continue to apply.
17. Using our website
You agree to use the website lawfully. You must not try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to it, submit false or harmful content through our forms, or use automated means to scrape it or send spam. We may restrict access if you do.
The website's information is general and is not a binding offer; only an accepted Order creates a commitment. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience and we do not control or endorse them.
18. Data protection
We handle personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. Where we process personal data on your behalf as part of a project, we do so only on your instructions, keep it secure and confidential, and will agree any further data-processing terms the law requires.
19. Events beyond our control
Neither of us is liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, war, government action, power or internet failures, or failures of third-party platforms. The affected party will tell the other promptly and take reasonable steps to resume. This does not excuse a late payment.
20. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates applicable there. We will first try in good faith to settle any dispute by discussion. If that fails within 30 days, the courts of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, have exclusive jurisdiction, unless the law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
21. General
- Entire agreement: these Terms and the Order are the whole agreement about the services and replace earlier discussions.
- Changes: we may update these Terms. The version in force when you accepted an Order applies to that Order unless you agree otherwise; for the website, the latest version applies.
- Severability: if any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- No waiver: not enforcing a right does not waive it.
- Assignment: you may not transfer your rights under an Order without our written consent. We may use subcontractors but remain responsible for their work.
- Notices: we will send notices to the email address you gave us. Please send notices to us at the address in section 22.
- Language: these Terms are written in English. If translated, the English version prevails.

12. Social media management
You keep ownership of your social media accounts and give us the access needed to manage them. We follow each platform's rules but cannot guarantee specific results such as follower counts, reach, engagement, leads or sales, because these depend on factors outside our control, including platform algorithm changes. Advertising spend is paid by you directly to the platform unless the Order says otherwise.
